Collection: Angelite

Angelite is a trade name for a soft, pale blue to blue-grey form of anhydrite, a calcium sulphate mineral. Most of it comes from Peru, where it reached the market in the 1980s.

Varieties and Trade Names

It forms in evaporite deposits and dissolves in water, so it is best kept dry and wiped with a soft cloth. It is usually cut into tumbled stones, carvings, spheres and beads.

PureTrade Gems supplies wholesale angelite to UK shops, market traders and other trade buyers.
