Collection: Labradorite

Labradorite is a feldspar mineral first identified in Labrador, Canada. The best pieces show labradorescence, a flash of blue, green, gold or orange that moves as you turn the stone. Madagascar is a major modern source.

Varieties and Trade Names

Spectrolite is a trade name for labradorite from Finland with an especially strong, full range of colours. Black labradorite is a name often used for larvikite, a related Norwegian rock. Rainbow moonstone is also, in fact, a variety of labradorite rather than true moonstone.

PureTrade Gems supplies wholesale labradorite to UK shops, market traders and other trade buyers.
