Collection: Pyrite

Pyrite is iron sulphide and the most common sulphide mineral. Its brassy metallic colour earned it the nickname fool's gold, although it is sometimes found alongside real gold.

Varieties and Trade Names

It often grows as near-perfect cubes, and flattened disc-shaped forms are sold as pyrite suns. Pyrite can slowly react with moisture and air, so it is best kept dry.

PureTrade Gems supplies wholesale pyrite to UK shops, market traders and other trade buyers.
